Piles of loose paper can be found in any home.  The most common solution is to file them.  But for those who lack filing space, have more shelf space, or who need to be able to see their possessions, an alternative is the three-ring binder.  Binders are inexpensive, come in a variety of sizes and colors, can be divided with the use of inserts, and can add needed organization to your possessions. All Ways Organized offers these suggestions for using three-ring binders in your home.

  • CD ROMs for your computer programs can be stored with their manuals in binders with special CD pages.
  • Warranties and equipment manuals can be stored by category (i.e. electronics, appliances) in clear file jackets for easy retrieval.
  • Frequently used recipes can be consolidated in a binder.
  • Use a binder for your children, with dividers to separate activities, school and sports information.
  • Take our menus, phone lists, emergency contacts, calendars and other scheduling information can be stored in a binder that is kept next to the phone for quick reference.
  • A binder is a good tool for holiday planning.  You can have sections for shopping lists and gift ideas, recipes for holiday menus, holiday card record keeper, and your holiday calendar.
  • A health or medical binder can be set up for your family so that you can have quick access to dates of medical appointments, health history forms, results of medical tests etc.
  • Binders can also be used to store craft instructions and project ideas with your supplies.
  • Place color copies of your children’s best art work in a binder, creating your own “coffee table” book.
